Brian Shackelford Arrested
Brian Shackelford was arrested after last night's game on suspicion of third-degree sexual assault.
According to a story from the AP:
The 29-year-old player was arrested shortly after midnight at Miller Park, where the Reds played the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night, police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said. She declined to provide details on the arrest other than to say it involved a woman Monday.
That's about it as far as details. Nice of the police to specify that it was a woman.
It's hard to make much of a judgement without knowing more, but it makes calling him Brian “Love” Shackelford sort of ominous.
this was posted at Red Reporter, but I thought it would add more light to “Love” Shackelford’s persona:

And feel free to have The Crack Technical Staff fix that to make it fit.
Not sure where to actually post this tid bit.

Yeah, I guess Love Shack might be considered inappropriate now.
I’m still calling him that.
OMG, Shack is on Adult Friend Finder? And I’ve never found his profile??
I mean, um…
RainDelay — That would be perfect fodder for a Red Hot Diary! But I plan to write something up about it here in a minute, so don’t feel like you’ve got to make one right now.
Cool, it didn’t even dawn on me to do that. *slaps forehead*
Travis Chick is gone? Wow. There goes one of the two guys O’Brien got from the Padres for Joker (Joe Randa). Along with Justin germano.
So we got Everyday Eddie for Chick, huh? He spent like ten years with the Twins, so not surprised Krivsky traded for him, after he broke Rick Aguilera’s team record for games saved in a season for the Twins.
Eddie started the year as the Mariners’ closer but hit a rough spot where he blew three saves in less than three weeks and he lost that job. But he had 36 saves for them last year. And Kriv-Dawg has had some luck bringing AL pitchers over to the NL (see Arroyo, Bronson). So here’s hoping this works out as well as that one did.
No kidding: once Krivsky runs out of ex-Twins to hire, I don’t know what’s going to happen. We might have to get a new GM.
Besides Krivsky, who was in the front office when Eddie was there, Joe Mays, Eric Milton, and Javy Valentin were also in Minnesota when Guardado played there. Rich Aurilia was a teammate of Eddie’s in Seattle.
Also FWIW, by all accounts I’ve read, Eddie Guardado is one of the most notorious clubhouse pranksters in all of baseball. He should be good for some future stories on his antics in the Reds’ clubhouse once he settles in. This will be a looser clubhouse even if Eddie never saves a game for the Reds (but I hope he reels off 20 in a row).
