Double Bubba Double
Reds up 3-2
RBI double for Bubba! It’s the go-ahead run!
Yay Crosby! Gets us the lead!
Hubba Bubba lookin’ good. 😎
After 5 1/2, the Reds lead it 3-2. Suddenly this game is fun to watch again!
Well, listen to, anyway.
I know, it’s only spring training, so it shouldn’t matter, but it’s a lot more fun when they’re winning. 🙂
Spring training or not, it’s a lot more fun to see them play well.
Gil is a much better third baseman than he is a CFer.
Saarloos gives up a two-out double to Francisco.
That Francisco guy is having a great spring. He’s always trouble.
Too bad the Reds already have a 3B. I mean, not too bad, but too bad for Gil.
Saarloos gets out of it.
Nice to hear about some good communication as Hopper pulls down out numbe three to end the inning.
Lets go Votto !
Deno grounds out to third. Not such a great game for the Heartthrob.
Mercado with a three baser !!!
4-2
Votto’s aboard on a walk. Machado coming up. Is Machado still switch-hitting? It doesn’t say so on Reds.com
w00t!
RBI triple for Machado. 4-2 Reds!
Moeller trying to make a case for three-catchers with an RBI double to the wall.
How many different game threads do you participate in during a game, BF?
5-2 after six and a half. Go Reds!
Um, depends. Three or four. I kind of slut around. Depends on what’s going on where.
I used to do this with Yankees gamethreads, too. 🙂
RHM,
Sorry ’bout being ahead of your postings.
I’m listening live on WLW, either that or
I’m just typing faster
pitchers best friend ! end of inning
BF –
These game threads are pretty new to RHM. They’ll get better!
Any particularly interesting conversations going on elsewhere?

No need to apologize, I’m just glad you’re here. It’s sort of neat to get a preview of what’s about to happen (though I usually haven’t refreshed soon enough…)
Well, that was a fast top of the eighth. But it’s hard to complain when they still lead 5-2
It’s pretty dead elsewhere in Redsland today. People probably have better things to do on a sunny afternoon. And they probably weren’t blown away by the starting lineup.
They’re discussing whether to trade Deno at RedsZone. I don’t see that happening. Given the likely starting outfield, they need guys with options left, that they can send up and down as needed.
another double play…..
I was in the other room making hot chocolate (I’m still sick on this sunny afternoon), but I heard something about an excellent play by Anderson Machado and a double play to end the inning.
I don’t know; the Reds have a lot of potential outfielders. I’m not sure that Wise or Hopper are as good as Deno, but if the offer was right…
It was an excellent play by Machado because of truly horrible fielding by Dumatrait. Machado saved his bacon.
Bad plays by other people are just making Machado look great today!
The consensus seems to be that Deno wouldn’t bring much. The folks at RedsZone think it’s Freel who should be traded, because he’ll bring something decent in return.
Do they say what they think Freel should be traded for?
Reds strand two to keep the lead 5-2 going into the bottom of the ninth.
No. But they’re probably thinking pitching. Seems like that’s what everyone wants. A closer, maybe?
The Reds strand two. Last licks for the Tribe.
The team would definitely miss Freel. They’d have to get some very good pitching for him, and I’m not sure that kind of pitching is available.
Of course, Krivsky always comes through with the trades I never expected.
This one belongs to the reds !!
Coutlangus seals the deal.
Yay! Go Reds!
I’m glad to say that I found Brantley much easier to listen to today. Maybe he just needs some experience on the radio.
I wouldn’t trade Freel. But I’m not sure I’d make him a starting OFer, either. I think his value is as a utility guy.
One of the reasons given for trading him now is that his value may never be higher. They seem to think he’ll decline quickly, because of his all-out style of play.
And the Reds win.
I don’t think there’s any evidence for that, but even if he does slow down on the field, he’ll always been a sparkplug in the clubhouse, plus a fan-favorite.
He (brantley) should get better with time.
I just don’t like it when the announcers get too critical of the home team.
Especially when we are down and I’m already in a bad mood. Joe would always balance Marty out.
Yes, I realize I’m preaching to the choir. 🙂

(^the choir)
Brantley’s not afraid to speak his mind, so as long as he stays positive himself, he might be able to play that role.
Thanks, guys, for coming by to enjoy the game with me today. I’m going to take a nap.
Tomorrow’s my nephew’s first birthday party is at 1, but I’ll put up a game thread before I go.
Now they want to trade someone for Jason Ellison.
Eh. I don’t see that he’s a better option than Hamilton.
Thanks for the Saturday entertainment RHM
the day is already better due to a win over the indians
