Jays, eh?

Hill 2B
Overbay 1B
Glaus 3B
Zaun C
Thigpen DH
Griffin LF
Mottola RF
Duncan CF
Redlegs
Freel CF
Gonzalez SS
Phillips 2B
Dunn LF
Encarnacion 3B
Conine DH
Hatteberg 1B
Valentin C
Denorfia RF
He forgot to mention the starting pitchers, DOH!
Its Matt Belisle for the Reds and Gustavo Chacin for the Blue Birds.
Alex Gonzalez leading off for the Reds in the bottom of the 3rd.
On C. Trent’s site, he refers to today as a “short day” for Freel. Maybe once they got a look at the competition they gave Freel the rest of the day off.
Line out to LF… Phillips up.
yea Freel did a lot of base running so I wouldn’t be surprised if they just want to keep him fresh. No need to burn him out this early on. The guy will kill himself to make a play no matter how meaningless the game is.
Phillips hits one off the 3B glove… scored a basehit.
The Big Donkey Project.
pop out to Glaus in foul ground. 2 away. Edwin up.
Walked on 4 pitches… here comes Jeff Conine.
Fly out to CF… after 3 its still 1-0.
Dang it’d be nice to see the Reds score some more runs!
It seems like everytime I watch (or listen) to a game with Belisle its a pitching duel.
Looping liner gets beyond Philips’ glove… Aaron Hill on 1B to lead things off in the right.
OH OH… tight hamstring for Ryan Freel…listed as day-to-day.
Overbay groundball… 4-6-3 smooth double play.
nice hop to Edwin, he makes the throw over, hatteberg with a good catch on the receiving end.
High fly to RF, pops out of his glove! hatteberg gets on, E-9.
Valentin grounder to 3B, barely nailed at 1B. Advances the runner.
Denorfia a fly ball … deep RF … caught at the track. Deno just ain’t that kind of hitter. here comes Hopper.
Line hit to CF, Hatteberg scores easily. 2-0 Redlegs.
Glaus’ throw pulls Overbay off the bag… AGON reaches safely on the E-5.
Philips is retired. End of 4, Reds now lead 2-0.
Nice of the guys to respond to my request for more runs. 🙂
Weathers now on the Hill… Castro at SS, Janish at 2B.
Belisle’s line: 4 scoreless innings with 1 hit allowed, 3 Ks and 1 BB.
Janish catches a pop out. Zaun retired, Thigpen coming up.
Nice outing for Belisle.
Liner shoestring catch by Janish. 2 away.
John Ford (don’t call me Alfredo) Griffen fouls one off his shin.
Liner caught by Janish… he retires the side by himself.
Nice. Janish must be feeling very special about now.
2 out walk to Conine. Hatteberg steps up to the dish.
fly out to CF.
Bubba Alert: Bubba now in the game as is Gil.
Potential closer Dustin Hermanson now pitching.
Bubba is LF, Gil is at 3B, Votto at 1B.
Hermanson strikes out the first batter.
Drag bunt, Hermanson scoops it and dives to apply the tag… “Nice hustle” yells someone in the crowd.
Gil handles it and makes the throw over to 1B. 1-2-3 inning for Hermanson.
That was me yelling. You could hear it all the way from Indianapolis. 😛
Olmedo alert!!!
C-Trent now in the booth. What a goober! He sounds fresh out of college.
Go Little Ray Ray!
Talking about Belisle… he played with valentin over the winter, so he feels good and ready to go.
Now, now, go easy on him. Not everyone can have the same suave sophistication as the commenters on RHM. 😎
The thing about C-Trent, and this comes off in the blog as well, you can tell he is tinkled pink to just be there… he is clearly in awe of the whole thing… and I don’t blame him so much.
Denorfia scores on a RBI double by Hopper… a gapshot to right center.
C-Trent ready to pen Hamilton’s biography…jeesh.
If he could just curb his enthusiasm a teensy bit..
Its like Spinal Tap, his exuberance has been set to 11. Everyone else can only go up to 10… but his dial goes to 11.
End of inning. I guess the Reds are leading 3-0 now.
He’s just starting out; he can’t be jaded yet. Give him a couple years, I’m sure the grind will wear him down.
So, the score must be 0-3, right?
Santos gives up a single to Aaron Hill.
It’s interesting to hear C’s last name pronounced. It’ll take some time for me not to think of it as Rosencrantz, as one of the duo of doomed character’s in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
Fielders choice janish to Castro. 1 out. Trent assessing all the #5 pitchers. On Santos: “The numbers just don’t pan out for me.” Well right now Santos has a 0 ERA… but I know what he means… but damn this guy is our new GM apparently.
That’s what I always heard in my head as well, Zel. How is it pronounced?
5-4-3 double play. 7th inning stretch, 3-0 Redlegs leading.
