They’ve Lost Already?
It's only 8:40 p.m. and the Reds have already lost one game tonight. Now we've got Bronson Arroyo going in the second game (accompanied by David Ross, fresh of the DL) for the second half of the double-header, and I'm not feeling at all confident. It would be just like the Reds to go on a 6-game winning streak and then get immediately swept by the Pirates. At least it might take some of the air out of the idea of handing Pete Mackanin the manager position. Have him in the running, sure, but at least interview some guys.
Anyway, here's the line-up for our Reds tonight. I see that Norris Hopper was already caught stealing.
Reds
Norris Hopper, CF
Jeff Keppinger, RF
Brandon Phillips, 2B
Jorge Cantu, 1B
Adam Dunn, LF
Edwin Encarnación, 3B
Alex Gonzalez, SS
David Ross, C
Bronson Arroyo, P
Go Reds!
I’m not watching the game right now; I’m sitting in my son’s room, being nearby while he falls asleep. He’s in a major afraid-of-every-little-noise-he-hears phase. In any event, I’m stuck with the Gameday until he dozes off.
Wow, that’s what Jorge Cantu looks like? I had no idea.
Norris Hopper is a truly awful baserunner. But I think that was a botched hit and run.
How about Arroyo, though, huh? I totally expected him to get rocked tonight but so far so good.
Now, the CTS told me that neither Griffey nor Dunn would be starting either game tonight, but I can see that Dunn’s starting this second game. Was he just seeing things, or was there a last-minute change?
He was just seeing things. Griffey played in the first game. And Pete said Dunn would play the second, before the games started.
He’s resting the lefties because he knew there would be two lefties starting for the Bucs.
It’s Hamilton who’s not starting either game. That, I don’t get. CF is tough. Usually they don’t make one guy play CF for both ends of a doubleheader.
The CTS probably meant that neither was starting both games and I misunderstood. But Hamilton’s not starting either one? Way to set up the team for success.
But Hopper is 3 for 3 tonight. Mackanin’s a genius!
Has anyone noticed that Bill Bray looks a little bit like the second Terminator?
Hopper now 4 for 4.
How many times caught stealing?
Dammit. All tied up.
Dammit. They’re behind.
I was ready to say I couldn’t stay up for the end of this one, but last round-up time for the Reds is nearly here already.
Yeah. The 8th inning is still cursed, I guess.
Ugh. Thanks for hanging in there, BF. Have a good night.
