Reds Hold Press Conference to Announce Baker as Manager

You can find the press conference where the Reds management announced Dusty Baker at Reds.com.
The Crack Technical Staff is encouraged by some of the things he has to say. You might be too. Me? I’m moved by this particular quote from Dusty:
I’ll never let you win. I’ll let you get close.
Just to clarify that was his quote in regarding his win at all cost attitude and playing games with his own daughter… he can’t allow her win just get close.
You take the fun out of it if you put in in context, smartelf.
Even in context, though, there’s probably some remark to be made about him winning against little girls.
Absolutely… this guy is like Pete Rose… he even referred to his need to win as a disease.
I feel better sense the press confrence. I am in a what and see mode.
I wonder what members of the coaching staff will be kept?
Probally Pole but will anyone else sense baker does not want a whole new staff for the players to learn.
He won me over today… very charming in person, but a definitely a strong desire to win. He’s not here to screw around.
I’m more hopeful than I’ve been in a long time.
I am guessing Billy Hatcher will stick. They both are former Cubs afterall.
I feel better after the press conference, too. If only because it sounds like Dunn will not only be back, he’ll get an extension.
