Yeah, I know this was last night’s game, but I stayed up late to watch it and didn’t have a chance to write about it until now.

God continued to show his love for the Rockies, last night, stewarding them to a 2 to 1 victory over the Cardinals. Obviously, the All-mighty was disgusted by the turn of events in the game on Opening Day, sending in His rains to cancel the game before the Cardinals’ lead would be official. It’s like His Great Omniscience knew the Rockies would fare better the next day.

Tired of the Rockies being God’s team jokes yet? Okay, I’ll lay off it a bit.
🙂

Kyle Lohse pitched great in his first start for his new team. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, their former sucky pitcher Kip Wells did almost as well.

Yadier Molina, on pace for 162 home runs this season, provided the sole offense for the redbirds in the fifth, but that lead bullpen lost the lead in the 8th.

Ryan Franklin got the loss, and Taylor Bucholz got the win, with Manny Corpas getting his first save.

The two teams play again right now! Todd Wellemeyer’s going against Aaron Cook. The Cardinals even have a lead already. No word on when the man upstairs will make His appearance.

Reds Game 2: Reds Host Diamondbacks

Dunn Doesn’t Walk
Reds Lineup
CF Corey Patterson
SS Jeff Keppinger
RF Ken Griffey Jr.
2B Brandon Phillips
LF Adam Dunn
3B Edwin Encarnación
1B Joey Votto
C Paul Bako
P Bronson Arroyo

I wanted to comment on the ludicrousness of this line-up, but then I saw the JTM commercial with Bronson Arroyo and Chris Welsh, and now I’m speechless. Wow.

I Miss Josh Hamilton

A 9th inning opening day home run to give his team the lead. I know Edinson Volquez hasn’t pitched for the Reds yet, but, man, I enjoyed Hamilton last year. I’d rather see him in center for the Reds than Corey Patterson.

Vote for the NLC’s Hottest Baller

Don’t forget to cast your vote for the NLC’s Hottest Baller championship round. We’ve already had more votes this round than ever before, and Bubba Crosby is well in the lead over Brandon Phillips. Vote early and often: time is running out.
