This Is Getting Uggla

Holey crap, Eric Milton has given up six runs over the course of four outs. Three home runs, the most recent to Dan Uggla.
Can we get Tom Browning out here to adjust this man's rubber position, please? Something obviously ain't right.

You might want to re-word that.
I don’t know how Eric Milton managed to win as many games as he did when he was in Philadelphia, but he has fallen apart since going to Cinci. You had to see it coming, though. Despite his success as a Philly, he gave up the most homers in the league that year. And Great American is another hitter’s park.

Coley – Welcome! Pleasure to have you. Alas, no: nothing we’re seeing out of Milton tonight is a surprise by now. Though as I type this, he’s advanced to third base on a wild pitch, so at least part of his game is relatively solid.
That’s weak consolation.

Oh, god. If this Uggla guy amounts to anything, we’ll be seeing Dunn-like headlines all the time. Mine was similar.
The Reds certainly aren’t getting it Dunn tonight.

I can’t see Shawn’s titles. I emailed him about it- he’s stumped, too. I thought it was using Firefox, but it doesn’t work in IE either.

Yeah, I only see Shawn’s titles in Bloglines and in the URL. His style sheet must not include the title for some reason.

My sincere hope is that Paul Wilson can return to his 2004 form and either Milton or Williams can be removed from this rotation. Right now Milton and Williams are posting ERAs of 6.50 and 8.00 respectively.
And to think, the Reds gave up Casey for Williams and are paying Milton $9.8 million for this kinda crap.
I admire Narron for leaving Milton in last night though. These guys need to understand that Papa Narron isn’t going to be there to pat them on the back and tell them everything is going to be fine. Besides, with such a suspect bullpen, Narron can’t afford to be pulling the starters early.
We all want good Wilson back. This pitching staff can use all the help it can get. And I don’t regret sending Casey. Williams is still the fifth best starter we’ve got. If they could have gotten someone better, that would have been great, but that’s a duh. No one ever sits around wishing their team could have gotten someone worse in trade.
As for leaving Milton in, I didn’t approve at the time at all. I thought they should have had someone up immediately. But looking back on how Milton settled down and Belisle didn’t when he took over, well, I guess I’m glad in hindsight. Not that it resulted in a win.
Casey should have never been traded for Williams. Last season Belisle had the exact same ERA as Williams and Belisle posted those numbers in the homer friendly GABP. Why not just insert Belisle into the rotation? He may not be a top notch starter, but he is better than Williams.
Casey is gone, the Reds don’t have a solid first baseman, the person they received from that trade has an ERA of 8.00, and $900,000 of that Casey money was spent on Chris Hammond, who has an ERA somewhere in the neighborhood of 30.00.
Oh come on! Hammond’s ERA isn’t in the 30s!
It’s in the 20s.
And Williams’ ERA isn’t 8.00. After three innings, it is has risen to 9.00.
Make that 9.82.

Thing is, we didn’t need Casey, and we did need a pitcher. That’s all I’m sayin’.
