The bullpen is being massively overused, but I’m not sure what the problem is. Starters being pulled too soon? Too much lefty-righty matchup crap? Or do they just suck?
I do think Narron’s overdoing it with the lefty/righty matchups, but I also think Zeldink’s right, Weathers got the ground ball that could have ended the inning, the defense botched it.
Narron’s strong suit has never been bullpen management, but it’s hard to say why the relievers suck so much now when they were so good a week ago.
Why was Arroyo taken out when he was? It seemed early to me.
And all we can do is wish and say what-if and wait for the bullpen’s salvation: Gary Majewski.
😥
Arroyo was up to 96 pitches according to the Associated Press feed.
I just can’t believe it. We seemed so deep in pitching in spring training. Now…
Last round-up time for the Reds. At the beginning of the game, it looked so much like we wouldn’t have to hear George utter those words!
Here’s a question for you: on whom will Narron take out his anger? He loves Weathers; I don’t think it’s going to be him. Coffey is making himself a prime target with his pitching lately.
And my pager is going off, I’m going to have to duck out. 🙁
Sorry, duty calls. Bye for now!
Castro should be DFA’d for that swing.
Go get ’em, HMZ
I’m thinking that Coffey seems a prime candidate. I believe he has options, too. Assuming either of Bray or Majewski are healthy and ready, I could see Coffey being shipped down to make room for one of them.
Something has to be done, and I think that might be the easiest at this point.
Wowza that sucked. But it was nice to chat with you guys, while my site was up. Thanks for dropping by. 🙂

That’s true. Defense counts. Freakin’ Luke Scott (or is Scott Luke?) made two great plays in right field that probably kept runs off the board.
While we had all kinds of problems. A-Gon missing that catch. (Though he probably has other things on his mind, understandably.) Ross kicking one (literally).
Funny, they were supposed to be improving the pitching and defense…
