No Ryan Freel today, which is hardly surprising after the face-plant into the wall yesterday.
Big thumbs up to Ryan Freel though, he continues to be my favorite simply because he plays the game all out. From the first time I saw him play he reminded me of the way Chris Sabo approached the game, a lot of grit and a huge competitor who will do anything to help the team even if it means getting banged up. By the way, did you see the throw Hamilton made yesterday I think? Heaven knows I love scrappy players who always go all-out – that’s why I’m a Bubba Crosby fan – but Freel may be carrying it a bit far. It’s a spring training game!

You are correct about it just being a spring training game however sometimes players like that can’t dial it down, it’s in there nature to play all out whenever they hit the field. Seeing some of your posts, I am sorry I don’t live in Cincy to have become a Bubba fan. I live west of Indianapolis and it is hard to get much in the way of Reds info if I don’t go to the Red’s website. I can get just about any St. Louis game I want, it wasn’t until last July that our fox sports started offering Red’s games in addition to St. Louis. Go figure since we are smack in the middle between Chicago and Cincy, St. Louis being quite a bit further away.
Welcome Freel Fan! It’s lovely to have another fan in the fold. And I’m with you, by the way: Freel goes all out because that’s just the way he is. It’s gratifying to me as a fan to get to watch him do what he loves so spectacularly!
Freel does what Farney tells him to do.
