Though there may well be subs in by now, late as I am posting about it.
In addition to taking off for vacation tomorrow, we've also just listed our house with a new real estate company with the understanding that our house is available for showings the whole time we're gone. So, today not only have I been collecting stuff together to pack, I've been getting the house “show ready.”
Since people who are checking out houses with the knowledge that the owners are a thousand miles away probably feel more free to open closets and poke around in bathrooms, I've felt the need to get everything super-clean. I'm sort of weird like that.
It's been at tired day, but I really feel like I've earned my trip to Sarasota now.
I see the Reds are up to an early lead 1-0 in the middle of the second. I believe I heard that Freel scored the Reds’ one run.
I think Freel is hurt. He didn’t run out his last grounder, and then suddenly Wise was in CF.
And now Harang is being manhandled.
Ah, fewmets. I go to finish the dishes and when I come back, all hell has broken loose!
If Freel’s hurt, Bubba moves up on the opening-day-outfielder probability list.
Obviously, you should never do dishes again. 😉
Hopefully it’s not serious. It’s probably the same hamstring injury. At least he’s smart enough not to try and keep playing.

That [em]does[/em] seem out of character for Freel 😛
The CTS and I have had the same argument about a dishwasher at least a half-dozen times. We have even had free dishwashers offered to us. I always wanted one, but the CTS said there wasn’t room in the kitchen. He won because 1) he was right, and 2) he worked from home so he ended up washing all the dishes anyway.
Now, though, he working in an office and we’re back to sharing the dishes duties. Blah. At least we’ll be moving in the foreseeable future.
Well, this is getting ugly. 😛
Final score: 15-1, Rays. They now have a 6-game winning streak. The last time we saw them, they were 1-12, and had a 12-game losing streak.
Nobody in a red uniform had a very good night, from the sound of it. Dropped balls, bad throws, pitchers shelled, and Wilkerson ejected for beaning a batter after giving up a three-run dinger.
15 runs was a park record for the Rays.
Wow, a monumental event, to be sure. Next year, I’m scheduling my spring training trip for earlier in March, [em]before[/em] the players have gotten all bored and disillusioned!
The alarm goes off in four hours for us to get up and start getting ready to head to the airport. I’ll put up a game thread for tomorrow, since I won’t have access to these Internets before I’m actually sitting at the diamond myself!
I’ll take plenty of photos of Bubba. 🙂
