It Took Him Two Months to Come Up With That?

Pitchers and catchers report today. Yippee!
Today is also the day we find out the big secret of how Ken Griffey, Jr. broke his hand:
Griffey was wrestling with his two sons, Trey and Tevin, and his daughter, Taryn, when 13-year old Trey knocked him off balance. Trying to avoid falling onto his kids, Griffey landed awkwardly on his left hand.
At least he didn't say he broke it shovelling snow.

It don’t quite add up, but whatever.. just hit us 30 HRs this year Kenny and all is forgotten, ok?

Sure the story makes sense NOW… after 3 months of thinking about what to say to the media. Is it true? Who knows, are you going to interrogate his kids to find out? Is anyone? Well, I am a Griffey fan and I don’t care how he hurt his hand quite frankly, and maybe it is true and maybe it isn’t..I don’t care I just want 30 HRs and 100 RBIs and at least a .280 average out of the Kid, da Man, da playa.

I’d rather see 40 dingers from Junior. That means he stays healthy enough to play in about 140 games. But even if he “only” hits 30, he will still pass, in order, Rafael Palmeiro, Harmon Killebrew, Mark McGwire, Frank Robinson, and Sammy Sosa (and it should be noted that two of those guys are known cheaters while a third is strongly suspected), and be #5 all-time, and #3 among lefthanded hitters behind Ruth and Barry Balco…er, I mean, Bonds.
