Arroyo Desperate to Leave Cincy; Goes to Japan

Bronson Arroyo is the lone representative of the Cincinnati Reds to who will tour Japan with an exhibition team of American major leaguers.
In other Bronson news, he felt the need to blab to the Rhode Island News about how he can't wait to get back to Boston:
“I still miss playing in that uniform, especially when I turn on the TV and they are 10 games out of first place and there is still a crowd that is maybe more enthusiastic than any crowd in the game,” Arroyo told the Lawrence (Mass.) Eagle-Tribune in a story published yesterday.
“You never know what's going to happen in the next couple years.”
You've got to admire the guy for his utter lack of worry about alienating the fans for the team he currently plays for.

That act is tired, and I'd hoped Arroyo would've gotten it out of his system after the year he had in Cincinnati.

Just win baby! As long as he keeps it off the field I could care less… Now if he goes bad next year (or regressing to his norm as some fans proclaim) he’s fair game. There’s always the argument of little fish/big pond vs big fish/little pond. Bronson was demoted to Sox bullpen-but he was in Boston and just bought a house. Then he gets traded to Cincinnati and becomes the 2nd starter, but it’s on a team that probably seems like baseball hell.
But it’s always bad when players bad mouth fans – directly or indirectly. In 2001, Graves pretty much called out the drunks as being from West Virginia and Kentucky, and a lot of the players were complaining of the boos – of course, it would have helped if they played better…
Anyhoo, Bronson ain’t going nowhere with pitching the way it is in MLB. Ironically, he’s hanging around this area like a bad cold. Performed and judged a talent contest the other night at Bearcat Madness at UC. I assume he’ll be performing at RedsFest as well.
Denny Neagle was another small cog in a big organization that came to Cincinnati (was traded from Atlanta) and became a second starter. Then he tells Rome IIRC that he would love to be traded to Cleveland – this was back in 1999.
I’m ok with BA, he’s a competitor who seems to always give it his all on the field. Heck, I’m sure he had it pretty nice in BOS — all those colleges in the surrounding area probably afford him a large groupie following for the “rich, young, rock-n-roll singer baseball player”.
Like shooting fish in a barrel. Cincy doesnt have very many fish, much less a barrel….(insert mandatory chili plug here)
I’ve eaten at plenty of Cracker Barrels in the Cincinnati area. Just sayin’.

Bronson pitched great at home (GABP) wuith a 6-2 record and a 2.60 ERA. Contrast that with harang who struggled at home with a 4+ ERA. i think Arroyo is a guy that appreciates the fans, feeds off the fans energy… thus obviously he has good feelings towards the Boston faithful. Not to mention he won a world series in front of those fans. I can’t stand all this negative spin, villianizing him for staying in touch with his friends in Boston. It’s ridiculous.
Arroyo apologetics are kind of trite. I’d like to hear you be more witty with your comments. I give it a B+.

I think Arroyo must have a woman in Boston. It’s her that he misses there, not the BoSox uniform. So, ladies in the Cinci area, it’s up to ya’ll to make Bronson feel welcome so that he’ll want to stay with the Reds. You know what to do. So get out there and take one for the team.
