The Reds snapped a two game win streak with a loss to the Colorado Rockies last night by a score of 3-0. It's not as bad as it sounds, though. The Rockies are off to a surprisingly hot start as well.

Brandon Claussen took the mound for the Reds allowing three runs (earned) on seven hits through six and two-thirds innings. He struck out five and walked two for the loss.

Matt Belisle took over in the seventh to get the final out, and it was a strike-out. Chris Hammond pitched the eighth, allowing no runs on one hit. Hammond's performance dropped his ERA to 13.5.

Clausssen and Francis matched each other for four innings. In the bottom of the fifth, the Rockies got to Claussen. Choo Freeman singled and stole second. First baseman Rich Aurilia threw the ball into center field, allowing Freeman to go to third, and the momentum was already all wrong. Danny “I gar-un-TEE” Ardoin singled to bring in Freeman. Jamey Carroll singled two batters later, and Matt Holliday doubled two batters after that to bring in two more. Final Score: 0-3.

The Reds' hits were contributed by Felipe Lopez, Aurilia, Austin Kearns, and Brandon Phillips. Adam Dunn walked twice. Also, Aurilia pulled up running to first and left the game with a strained groin.

All-around, a crappy game for the Reds. Except for the pitching. Who ever would think I'd say a thing like that?

The loss makes the Reds' record 19-9. The Reds go for the series split tonight at 8:35 p.m. Aaron Harang takes the mound to face off against Josh Fogg.
